What is ADHD coaching, and how is it different from traditional life coaching?

ADHD coaching is tailored to individuals with ADHD and focuses on strategies to manage symptoms, improve focus, organisation, and time management, and achieve personal or professional goals. Unlike traditional life coaching, ADHD coaching incorporates specific techniques designed to address the challenges that come with ADHD, like impulsivity, distractibility, and other executive function struggles.

I have seen in the News, it is being reported that the ADHD assessment process and accessing support for ADHD is expected to change. What does this actually mean?

News changes are due to be implemented in April 2025 by NHS England when it is expected that ADHD assessment wait times will jump almost immediately from months to multiple years. Click here to learn more about the significant changes.

Do you work with clients who have been diagnosed with ADHD?

Yes, although you do not have to be diagnosed – see below. ADHD coaching is specifically designed for individuals with ADHD. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been managing ADHD for years, coaching can help you find ways to better manage your symptoms and accomplish your goals. It’s all about providing strategies that work for your unique brain and helping you build skills for success.

Can I work with an ADHD coach if I’m not diagnosed with ADHD but suspect I have it?

Absolutely! If you suspect you may have ADHD but haven’t been formally diagnosed, coaching can still be beneficial. I can help you work on strategies for organisation, focus, and time management while encouraging you to seek a professional diagnosis if needed.

Is ADHD coaching suitable for all ages?

Yes! ADHD coaching can be helpful for individuals of all ages. I work with children (12 years and upwards), teens and adults, tailoring my approach, depending on the age group. For children and teens, coaching may involve working with both the client and their parents or caregivers. For adults, I focus more on independent strategies and career or life transitions.

Do you have a DBS check?

Yes, I am fully DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked, and this is available to view upon request.

How is ADHD coaching for young people different from coaching for adults?

Coaching for young people, especially school leavers, focuses on navigating transitions—whether that’s entering the workforce, deciding on further education, or adjusting to adult responsibilities. We work together on building skills such as self-confidence, organisation, and managing expectations. For adults, the coaching may centre around balancing life and career, overcoming obstacles, and achieving personal goals. Regardless of age, coaching helps create clarity and direction.

How do I get started with coaching?

Getting started is easy! You can reach out to book an initial consultation, where we’ll discuss your needs and goals to see if coaching is a good fit. From there, we can schedule our first coaching session and create a plan for moving forward. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals and overcome challenges!

What should I expect during a coaching session?

During a coaching session, you’ll discuss your goals, challenges, and any specific areas where you’d like support. In ADHD coaching, we’ll work together to develop personalised strategies. Sessions are always collaborative, where I will listen to you, observe and clarify before guiding you with a fresh perspective towards a result where you feel empowered to make positive and sustainable changes.

How long does coaching take to work?

The time it takes to see results varies depending on your goals, your commitment and the strategies we implement. Some clients notice improvements after a few sessions, while others may take a few months to reach their desired outcomes. The key is to remain consistent with the strategies discussed during sessions and stay engaged in the process.

Do you offer online coaching or in-person sessions?

I can offer in-person coaching, but mostly work online. Most people prefer the flexibility of remote coaching.

How long is each coaching session, and how much does it cost?

Each coaching session is typically 60 minutes long, though we can adjust the time if needed. Pricing varies depending on the package you choose. I offer single sessions or discounted packages for multiple sessions. Please reach out for more details on pricing and to discuss the best package for your needs.

Will coaching work for me if I’ve tried other methods or therapy before?

Yes – coaching can be a great complement to therapy, but it is also effective on its own, especially for individuals who are looking for actionable strategies and ongoing support. If you’ve tried other methods without success, coaching may offer the structure and motivation you need to make lasting changes.

How often should I have coaching sessions?

The frequency of coaching sessions depends on your needs and goals. Some clients prefer weekly sessions to maintain momentum, while others may schedule bi-weekly or monthly sessions. We’ll work together to determine a schedule that works best for you.
